ZAGOROHORIA: CANYON, PONTI E CASE DI PIETRA

Ho seguito le funeste sinuosità di Cocito attraverso le pianure tesproziane in Epiro, non lontano dalla profonda forra sotto l’indomabile Suli dove l’Acheronte cade con rombo di tuono. (P. L. Fermor; Mani) L’ orizzonte è frastagliato di picchi rocciosi.  L’ estate greca muore lentamente, ma qui l’ aria gelida di montagna, i focolari già accesi nelle case, le piogge improvvise fanno capire che la stagione sta cambiando. Un vento fresco accompagna via gli ultimi tepori. I monti del Pindo sono l’ ultima costola dei Balcani. Dal Nord della Grecia la catena prosegue in direzione Sud-Est e terminerà solo nel Peloponneso.
